Hello everyone and welcome to my first entry onto our museum blog!
Last week, whilst the museum was continuing to be emptied in preparation for the arrival of building contractors, I was busy running FREE outreach events to compliment the half term school holidays. These were held in the Mill Bridge Rooms in Hertford town centre, with the first part of the week focusing on fossils, which was organised in association with Rockwatch, the club for young geologists (http://www.rockwatch.org.uk/).

The second half of the week took a Japanese theme, and was organised by Junko Watanabe, who has been working here at Hertford Museum as part of a volunteer placement since November 2008. Many thanks to her for all her hard work!

But it doesn’t stop there, we will be at the Mill Bridge Rooms again this Saturday 28th February 2009 with activities to celebrate Hina Matsuri, the Japanese Doll Festival. Come along any time between 10.30 am and 4.00 pm to take part in crafty activities, quizzes, games and dressing up. Entry and all activities will again be FREE of charge. It will be lovely to see you there.
Watch this space for details of more event coming up to a hall, community centre or church hall near you over the next year!
